And they understood none of these things. (Luke 18:34)

God called Jesus Christ to a mission that, from all human standpoints, was unmitigated disaster. From every standpoint that humanity can look upon the ministry of Jesus Christ, Jesus was a total failure—every standpoint, that is, except God’s.

What seems a failure to humankind will almost always be a triumph in the eyes of God. That is because humans’ purposes are never God’s purposes and God’s purpose is never human in context.

If we maintain communion with God, we can be assured that everything is all right. What we may perceive in our daily walks as failures, God will turn into triumphs, taking on the stumblings of human nature and changing them to victories.

Paul says, “All things work together for good to those who love God.” The death of Jesus Christ on a cross on Golgotha is the greatest example of all as to how the mind of God can change failure into victory.

God of victory and love, as I stumble and fall through this thing called life, help me to claim the victories that You make out of my failures!
